We can see the concept of “data governance” as the trending topic of recent bibliography, together with that of artificial intelligence. Many knowledge areas agree to highlight the importance of this concept as a key element of an optimal information management. The objective of this article is to know about the context of this concept, how is it implemented and what kind of technologies it uses, and also its relationship with records management and archives. The article concludes with a methodological proposal to govern data from an archival perspective.
